Dear friends,

today I had a very satisfying experience, indeed full of pleasure. Coming home in the car and after all evening my mind was always thinking of the same delightful experience. I imagined repeating it, I recalled it ..... in short, I was doing the same mental procedure that is done with pain. Reverse only. As pain runs rampant in our mind, pleasure does the same thing. And it brings pain with attachment. So I took the very pleasant situation as a "very famous person". It was very, very interesting. This is what equanimity is: to stay in the middle between pleasure and pain

Thanks Fabio! I think it is all about balance.
Sogyal Rinpoche used to say something like
If you get Paris it is okay
If you loose Paris it is okay

But of course we have to keep our joy and don't be hard on ourselves.
Very interesting to reflect when ego comes in and it becomes grasping...

I want to share an interesting experience with you. every morning, as soon as I wake up, I practice tzalung. It's a good exercise for the body and a sweet way to start the day. I originally learned it to heal or mitigate my neuralgia. And it works! But it is not stable. After the practice, after a few hours the pain starts again. So I started examining the mental image of myself. Not only habitual behaviors, but above all habitual thoughts. Tenzin says to evoke an emotion and then, through the light of awareness, transform it. But , since before an emotion there is a thought that generates it, I started to capture a disturbing thought and transform it through the light of awareness. An example.
I inhale the luminous awareness, carry it into the chakra of my choice, do physical exercise and as soon as a disturbing thought appears (for example "I will never get rid of pain"), I capture it and transform it with the light of awareness. This is very, very powerful. I found peace and some little bliss. Much more powerful than working on the disturbing emotion. Because I work on the origin of emotion. A consideration comes naturally to me: when I control and transform thoughts I can have the experience of peace, when I dissolve them I have the experience of bliss

That's really great Fabio that you have found a way to make this work for you!

So many teachers speak of building familiarity, and of small moments, many times. You're clearly building that familiarity. Keep at it Fabio! I know you can do this!

I want to add a detail. While doing the tza lung and for example I decide to work on a negative aspect I proceed in various ways.
The first is: I evoke the image of fabio depressed and then with the light of awareness that radiates from the chakra on which I am working I dissolve it.
The second, and I discovered it this morning, I evoke the word "depressed", I illuminate each letter with light, like a neon that gradually turns on and transforms the letters individually in to the word  "active". And I illuminate each letter like a neon.This is very powerfulto me
The third is: do the exercise, illuminate the cakra and if thoughts appear, "capture" them and dissolve them in the light.
The fourth, discovered yesterday, is to use a dream. I'll give you an example: I dreamed that there was a very famous orchestra and that the conductor was sick at the last moment, so I had to replace him by going on stage without rehearsals. In the dream I refused the concert because I was not ready, I need to reahrse with the orchestra. This is certainly a samsaric dream with a feeling of inadequacy, depressive. As soon as I woke up in the morning, immediately  I did the tzalung, I evoked the dream, I imagined fabio radiant doing the concert.
As a side effect, my neuralgia dissolves

Thanks, it's interesting to work with the visualisation of the letters. In the reality when i think , interally i talk to myself with letters. I remember a friend of mine, he was italian but living in USA who was married with an italian woman. He was teaching in an american university, so he was speaking english all the day. But when he was arguing with his wife he started to talk in italian. He then confessed to me, that with his wife he was thinking in italian, at the university he was thinking in english. Sometimes we think with immagines, sometimes with words, sometimes with emotions

I did the sleepyoga course. I am very happy I followed it allthough I find it difficult to fall asleep when I am aware but it is a lifelong practice.
Most of the practice you have to do during the day. It helped me very much to look at my day, how do I spend my energy, what exhousts me. What do I do before I go to sleep, I take more time to quiet down now and am more aware how I start my day. There is a sleepyogagoddess of clear light. I turn to her many times a day.

Yes, is not an easy practice. Expecially because you must wake up during the night. But very powerful. Did you have lucid dreams?

There a so many techniques to suit different personalities and life situations. Often, you can have great luck trying a new technique not necessarily because it is powerful, but because you're learning and thinking about a new thing you're excited about. Remember at least some component of our dreams are an echo of the thoughts/experiences we had during the day.

But certainly remember also to work on memory in both directions. Can you remember your dreams during the day? Can you remember your waking life during your dreams?

Plenty of references are made to Tibetan Dream and Sleep Yoga, but also many other perspectives, techniques and goals. It can be an endless rabbit hole of research, but like I mentioned, very often you can get lucky just spending a night or two on each of a few techniques you're excited about. At least to get your first lucid dream or two.

For any of what you read or hear anywhere, please keep in mind that expectation/intention is very potent. If you read anywhere that such and such thing will not or cannot work, please disregard it immediately. Or else it will be true for you. Remember, you are the master of your dreams. Or rather, you are the dream.
